Town officials in Braselton are looking to add a little color to a few doors at a historic department store downtown.

Downtown Braselton said in a statement that the idea is to paint the five metal doors in the corridor at Braselton Brothers Department Store with five original designs.

Interested artists should submit up to five designs by Friday, May 22. Concepts suggestions vary but officials ask the artwork refrain from using logos, inappropriate subjects or politics/political messages. Artists can check out the unpainted doors at any time at 9924 Davis Street, or view photos of the corridor and some of the suggested design concepts by clicking the photo gallery above.

Artists will be selected and notified by May 29 and the doors will be completely painted by June 23.

Submissions can be sent to Downtown Director Amy Pinnell via email or mailed to P.O. Box 306, Braselton, GA 30517 Attention: Amy Pinnell

More details about the specific requirements are available here.
