Less than a week ago, Gwinnett County Public Schools announced a plan to have employees return to the physical workplace to finish the 2019-2020 school year, but after an outcry from employees, the plan has changed.

The original plan was released Friday, May 1. The adjustments to the plan, announced Wednesday, May 6, take place immediately.

A press statement from GCPS said the adjustments balance the needs of the school district to close out the school year with the reality that many employees because of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis have personal or family situations that make it difficult for them to return to their individual work sites.

GCPS employees will now follow the revised return-to-work site plans listed below:

School-Based Employees

Central Office Personnel

Gwinnett County Public Schools is the largest public school district in the state of Georgia.
