Donald McIntosh went home to Dawsonville, Georgia some $5,000 richer after scoring the Super Late Model feature victory in Saturday night’s Boyd’s Dirt Showdown at Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia.
The win came with the grandstands empty and social distancing being enforced around the speedway grounds due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
McIntosh was quickest in qualifying around the 1/3-mile clay oval, but it was Austin Neely taking the early lead from the outside of the front row.
Neely paced the event for the first seven laps before McIntosh moved past him to take the lead. From there, McIntosh would stay on the point for the remaining 43 laps, through several cautions en route to the win.
Austin Tyler Smith finished in second, with Michael Page in third, Riley Hickman in fourth and John Owenby in fifth.
Cory Hedgecock, Zach Leonhardi, Mario Gresham, Todd Hernandez and Jesse Lowe rounded out the top ten.
In other action, Trevor Sise took the victory in the Crate Late Model feature. Sam Seawright came home in second, with Zach Sise in third, Christian Hanger in fourth and Jake Rainey in fifth.
Matt Stewart was the winner in the Sportsman feature, with Sawyer Tinker in second, Logan Walston in third, Colton Jackson in fourth and Jake Green in fifth.
Hayden Swaney scored the victory in the Driver Development Class feature, with Cade Brookshire, Tyler Dixon, Garrett Loyd and Colsen Cochran rounding out the top five.
