A Lula woman has been charged with stealing approximately $100,000 from a disabled victim.
The Hall County Sheriff's Office said Amanda Natasha Jordan, 40, turned herself in at the Hall County Jail on Wednesday, April 29 and was released the following day on $5,700 bond.
The preliminary investigation said Jordan had been helping the 54-year-old female victim with the woman's finances because of her disability. The victim discovered discrepancies with her bank account and reported them to the sheriff's office in April 2019. The case was closed, according to investigators, but then it was reopened in recent weeks when they received new information about the victim's medical disability. That information allowed charges to be filed against Jordan. Warrants for Jordan's arrest were issued on April 16, 2020; she turned herself in 13 days later.
Investigators said the thefts took place across a two-year time frame.
Jordan is charged with exploitation of a disabled adult.
