Gainesville police are continuing to investigate an alleged shooting incident that took place in the city late Sunday night.

Police Cpl. Jessica Van says the reported victims, three males ages 16, 18 and 25, said they were inside a vehicle in the area of South Enota Drive when the occupants of another vehicle fired multiple shots in their direction.

The alleged shooter was said to be inside a blue sedan at the time.

After the shooting, the victims crashed into an embankment near Boulevard Street, and all three fled the scene on foot.

The trio was later tracked down and questioned about the incident, but Van said the group was not "fully forthcoming with information" and gave inconsistent information regarding the exact locations where the incidents took place.

No injuries were reported, and investigating officers were unable to locate any gunfire-related damage.

Van said investigators are planning on conducting more interviews with the alleged victims in order to gain more information about the incident.
