GAINESVILLE — Kyle Barr has stepped down as the wrestling coach at Chestatee after six seasons.

Chestatee Athletic Director Matt Stowers announced Barr's resignation on Monday.

“It has been my pleasure to be the head wrestling coach for the past six years, and I am thankful for the opportunity to coach this program to 145 wins and to coach 20 out of the 28 state placers in school history,” Barr said in his resignation letter.

“Kyle has done a great job with the wrestling program at Chestatee High School,” Stowers said. “We wish him all the best in whatever comes next in his career. We will now begin the search for the candidate that best fits Chestatee and the needs of its wrestlers.”

“We appreciate Kyle’s leadership of the wrestling program over the past six years," Chestatee principal Suzanne Jarrard said. "During his tenure, the program has had many wrestlers place in regional and state competitions.  We hope for him much success as he moves forward in his career.”
