The Georgia Department of Transportation on Wednesday announced a series of upcoming lane closures as part of the ongoing I-85 widening project.
A media release sent out early Wednesday evening said the closures will affect the 85 corridor in Barrow and Jackson counties.
"Beginning Friday, April 10, through Sunday, April 12, bridge construction operations at the Mulberry River will necessitate continuous, single-lane closures along I-85 Southbound from milepost 128 in Jackson County to milepost 127 in Barrow County," the release stated.
The mileposts mentioned in the release correspond to roughly Hwy. 53 and Hwy. 211, respectively, a distance of approximately 3.5 miles.
The closures will last for 48 hours, and are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Friday and run continuously through 10 a.m. Sunday.
