Buford girls basketball coach Gene Durden says he feels like a tiger in a cage.
Of course, he's talking about the state-wide shelter-in-place order which canceled school across the state last week due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Everybody is jumping on board with the Tiger King," he said. "Man, I feel like the Tiger that's in a cage. It does seem like forever that we were talking about the championship."
Durden led his program to its fourth straight Georgia High School Association Class 5A championship in March.
Then just a week later, school was closed and spring sports were put on hold at the time.
"Now when I look back in perspective, I am so thankful that we were able to finish," he said. "So many states were not able to finish. I'm just thankful because this thing hit five or six days after we finished. We feel really blessed and lucky to finish our season when so many other people didn't."
