A Demorest man died after losing control of his motorcycle on Talmadge Drive (Ga. 17 Alternate) in Habersham County Monday night.
The wreck happened just before 9:15 p.m. on Talmadge Drive at Black Mountain Road near the Stephens County line, according to Georgia State Patrol Post 7 in Toccoa.
After investigation, the Georgia State Patrol identified the victim as Stacy Black, 55. Black lost control of his motorcycle, failed to maintain lane and ran off the roadway to the right, according to GSP. The motorcycle then continued to travel down an embankment where it came to a final rest. Black died at the scene from his injuries.
