Falcons agree to terms with Todd Gurley

FLOWERY BRANCH — The Atlanta Falcons have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with running back Todd Gurley.

Last season, Gurley started in all 15 games he played for the Los Angeles Rams, totaling 857 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns on 223 carries and 207 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns on 31 catches. The five-year vet was selected by the Rams in the first round (10th overall) of the 2015 Draft.

Gurley has played in 73 games with 72 starts producing 5,404 rushing yards and 58 touchdowns on 1,265 carries. He has also totaled 218 receptions for 2,090 yards and 12 receiving touchdowns. The former Georgia Bulldog has played in four postseason games, including Super Bowl LII and rushed for 261 yards on 44 attempts with two rushing touchdowns.

In 2017, the North Carolina native produced 1,305 rushing yards on 279 rushes and 13 touchdowns and notched 64 receptions for 788 yards and six receiving touchdowns in 15 games. Gurley was named NFL Offensive Player of the Year for his allocades.

In his rookie season, Gurley played in 13 games (12 starts) totaling 229 carries for 1,106 yards and 10 rushing touchdowns. In his first four games, he set a league record for most rushing yards (566) in a rookie’s first four starts. Gurley was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
