Fire investigators look for suspect who torched vehicle in Habersham County

State and local fire investigators are looking for the person on persons who set a vehicle on fire in Habersham County this week. 

Investigators with the State Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner's Office said the burning vehicle was discovered in Clarkesville around 7 a.m. Thursday, April 2. 

"The black 2019 Jeep Compass was found burning on the side of the road at 171 Frank Lovell Road in Clarkesville, Georgia," said Safety Fire Commissioner John king. "The day before it was discovered burning, the vehicle was parked on the side of the road at 1920 Hollywood Highway in Clarkesville, where it was listed for sale."

Anyone who might have information on the fire may call the State Fire Investigations Unite at 1-800-282-5894. Rewards are offered for information that leads to arrest in the case. King said callers can remain anonymous. 

Habersham County Emergency Services officials are also investigating the case.
