Officials with the FASTRAK Racing Series and Friendship Motor Speedway in Elkin, North Carolina have announced that the tour’s season opener, slated for April 11, has been postponed.

The postponement comes after North Carolina Governor, Roy Cooper, issued a “stay at home” order through April 30 amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“While we continue to take our race by race approach, we had no choice but to postpone the 2020 season opener,” said FASTRAK Vice President D.J. Irvine, “Our number one commitment is to the safety of our teams, fans, tracks, and officials. We will continue to monitor the situation and make announcements accordingly. We will adhere to all federal, state, and local guidelines and policies.”

Plans to reschedule the $2,000 to win race will be made as quickly as possible. Officials with FASTRAK and Friendship Motor Speedway will work to reschedule as a more definitive timeline becomes available.
