The Gainesville Police Department is asking the public to be on the lookout for a man who falsely identified himself as a Gainesville Police Officer.

According to Corporal Jessica Van with Gainesville PD, the incident took place on March 24th around 8:15 p.m. A social media post from the department said the suspect conducted a traffic stop the area of Limestone Parkway and Jesse Jewell Parkway. The suspect then claimed he pulled the vehicle over because the driver was out past curfew. Gainesville PD emphasized in the post that they have not imposed a curfew.

The suspect's vehicle is described as a dark-colored Ford sedan with blue strobe lights inside.

Gainesville PD asks that anyone who sees suspicious activity relating to this incident call 911. The investigation is ongoing.
