*Due to the large crowds this past weekend, Smithgall Woods and Hardman Farm have closed their gift shop and visitor center browsing areas to guests. The bathrooms will still be open during normal hours, you will still be able to access the trails and staff will be onsite to answer any questions by phone.
*Permits for personal firewood cutting in the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests will be free to the general public effective immediately through June 1. The program allows the removal of downed timber or the cutting of standing dead trees under most conditions. *United Way of Hall County has created a COVID-19 Relief Fund to help provide immediate support to those in the county most impacted by the novel coronavirus pandemic. The fund will provide direct financial assistance to those in need as well as to nonprofit serving those affected during this time of crisis. *Forsyth County parks are now open sunrise-to-sunset and some amenities in the parks have been closed “in the interest of public health,” including basketball courts, playgrounds, volleyball courts, skate areas, dog parks, and ball fields. Green space and trails will remain open.
