The city of Gainesville is asking residents to refrain from doing face-to-face business with municipal offices in an effort to slow down the spread of Coronavirus.

City officials are suggesting residents visit the city’s website to see if the business can be done online or to call the appropriate department to see if your issue can be resolved without a visit to city buildings.

If the business is not urgent, officials suggest emailing the appropriate department so a worker can attempt to solve the issue without coming to a facility.

Water department customers are being asked to try one of these methods first. If customers still believe they must come to the office, they are asked to visit the department’s drive-through window.

Phone numbers and email addresses for city departments are available on the city’s website, gainesville.org/contact.
