According to the latest information from AAA, gas prices are trending downward both in Georgia and across the country.
As of Monday morning, the average price per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Georgia is $2.07. That's down from $2.20 one week ago and 18 cents below the national average of $2.25 per gallon.
Northeast Georgia is also faring well according to the report. Below is a list of area counties and their average price of gas per gallon:
- Habersham County: $1.96
- Jackson County: $1.98
- Banks County: $1.99
- Gwinnett County: $1.99
- Hall County: $2.02
- Barrow County: $2.02
- Dawson County: $2.02
- Forsyth County: $2.02
- White County: $2.08
- Lumpkin County: $2.09
The Gainesville area has the fourth-lowest average gas price of all metro areas in the state. Dalton has the cheapest metro area in Georgia, while the Hinesville-Fort Stewart area is the most expensive.
