ORLANDO, Fla. — East Hall dropped a 7-2 decision to Haines City (Fla.) Wednesday in the Disney World Tournament at the Disney Complex.

The Vikings (4-7) fell behind early to the Hornets (5-2) who roughed up TJ Smith for 7 runs on 7 hits in 4 1/3 innings. However, it was a scoreless game going into the third.

Haines City plated a pair of runs in the third on a RBI single and a passed ball. The Vikings trimmed it to 2-1 in the bottom of the inning getting a run on a Haines City error.

But the Hornets blew it open with four runs in the fourth, aided by two big East Hall errors. The Vikings got to within 6-2 on another unearned run but could get no closer.

Carter Gillespie, Ross Brock, and Christian McCullough all pitched well in relief for East Hall going the final 2 2/3 innings yielding just three hits.

Gavin Morters had two hits for East Hall. McCullough, Smith, and Alex Brock each had one hit for the Vikings.

East Hall next will take on Fort Worth Country Day (Tex.) on Thursday at the Disney Complex.
