Mother Nature has again put a dent into a NASCAR race weekend.

Wet weather at Las Vegas Motor Speedway has postponed the running of the NASCAR Xfinity Series Boyd Gaming 300 to Sunday evening.

The race will resume one hour after the conclusion of the NASCAR Cup Series Pennzoil 400, which is slated for a 3:30 pm EST start.

The start of Saturday’s Xfinity Series race was slightly delayed because of earlier shower that rained out qualifying for both the Xfinity race and for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series event.

The Xfinity Series was about to roll off the grid when the rains returned - along with sleet and hail - again delaying the start of the event.  About an hour later, the race finally got underway.  The raced made it to the end of the first segment, with Chase Briscoe winning the segment.

After pit stops the skies opened up again, bringing the field to pit road under the red flag with 50 laps complete.  To be official, the race would have to reach the halfway point (100 laps) or the end of the second segment (90 laps), whichever comes first.

Rain showers would pop up several times over the next few hours, with the final deluge finally coming just before 10 pm EST.

Once the race gets back underway, Joe Graf, Jr., who had not stopped, will have the lead, with Briscoe in second, Austin Cindric in third, Ross Chastain in fourth and Brandon Jones in fifth.

Justin Allgaier, Michael Annett, Justin Haley, Harrison Burton and Brett Moffitt rounds out the top ten.

Live PRN Radio coverage of the resumption of the NASCAR Xfinity Series Boyd Gaming 300 will follow one hour later on 102.9 FM, AM 550 and streaming live on AccessWDUN.

Chase Briscoe leads a pack of cars during Saturday's NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Rain interrupted the race on lap 50, and the conclusion of the event will be run on Sunday evening following the NASCAR Cup Series race.
