Hall County Emergency Management has deactivated its Emergency Operations Center with the passing of Saturday's snowstorm but is bracing for another round flooding rains.
Meanwhile, road maintenance personnel for both Hall County and its municipalities are reporting good road conditions this morning, spokesman Zachary Brackett wrote in an email Sunday morning. "Those agencies were able to clear and treat roadways overnight which has limited the amount of refreeze this morning."
Brackett added that once wrecks on I-985 at Candler Road (six vehicles involved) and Friendship Road at I-985 (eight vehicles involved) Saturday night were cleared up, "call volume (to the 911 center) decreased." Brackett said, however, there were no injuries in either incident.
Now, he adds, county emergency personnel are turning their attention to the potential for another round of torrential rains, similar to what occurred last week, which could result in more flooding.
"Hall County will be under a Flood Watch from Monday through Tuesday evening due to heavy rain moving in where we expect 3-4 inches of rain with locally higher amounts possible."
