UNG names Lampkin general counsel

University of North Georgia President Bonita Jacobs has named Reggie Lampkin the school’s new general counsel effective Jan. 1.

Lampkin has experience with the Georgia Department of Education, where he has served as the lead attorney for finance and business administration since 2014. Prior to his work with the Georgia DOE, Lampkin served as assistant legal counsel for Kennesaw State University, where he specialized in the areas of student affairs, athletics and contracts and assisting with employee matters.

Lampkin has additional experience with Atlanta Public Schools, the Georgia Attorney General’s Office and the Richmond County Solicitor General’s Office. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and holds a juris doctorate from Florida Coastal School of Law and a Bachelor of Science from Albany State University.

Lampkin’s specialized experience includes litigation, compliance with federal educational laws, contract review, licensing and intellectual property rights agreements and personnel and policy matters.
