A pedestrian is being treated at a nearby hospital for non-life threatening injuries after they were struck by a car Friday morning.

Winder Police Captain Chris Cooper said in an email statement that the pedestrian was a student at Winder-Barrow High School and had been struck at a low speed. Their injuries were not serious.

Cooper said the driver of the vehicle has been charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian in the crosswalk.

The incident happened at West Candler Street at Greenvalley Drive, near the Winder-Barrow High School Stadium, shortly after 8:30 a.m.
