Forsyth County judge resigns after complaints of sexual harassment

Posted 9:20PM on Wednesday 16th December 2020 ( 3 years ago )

A Forsyth County judge has decided to leave the bench amidst accusations of sexual harassment. Lynwood “Woody” Jordan, Probate Court judge since 2005, has been accused of sexually harassing employees.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Judicial Qualification Commission had an open investigation into the complaints when they learned the judge was voluntarily agreeing to step down from his position. As a result, they reached an agreement that Jordan’s last day be December 31 of this year. Jordan also agreed to remain off the bench permanently, never seeking a judicial position again.

No details were given into the allegations.

Prior to his current position, Jordan served as Forsyth’s county attorney for 10 years. He was also elected president of the Council of Private Judges of Georgia.

Cumming attorney Daisy Weeks-Marisko, former president of the Forsyth County Bar Association, ran unopposed in the November election and will succeed Jordan as probate judge.
