With coronavirus cases on the rise, officials with Dawson County Government have made the decision to close recreation centers at two parks for deep cleaning.

A recent press release from the county said the rec centers at Rock Creek Park and Veterans Memorial Park will be closed from Dec. 23, 2020 through Jan. 3, 2021. All activities that had been scheduled at the facilities during that time frame have now been canceled. There will be no open gym hours for the duration of the closure.

The closure will allow the facilities to be sanitized and reduce exposure to COVID-19 in the community, according to the press release.
