Hall County Parks and Leisure has announced in a Tuesday afternoon press release that youth basketball is being suspended due to an increase in COVID-19 cases in the county.
Youth basketball practices began Nov. 30 with certain health and safety guidelines in place. Coaches, volunteers and fans were required to wear masks, social distancing guidelines were followed and concessions were not available, according to the release.
Youth basketball games originally set to begin on Jan. 4.
“We will reevaluate the situation after the first of the year and will continue to follow state and local guidelines,” Hall County Parks and Leisure Director Mike Little said in a prepared statement.
