Girls basketball: Branch shoots past Chestatee; North Hall beats West; Lakeview loses

FLOWERY BRANCH — Ashlee Locke's triple-double performance led Flowery Branch past Chestatee, 38-23, on Friday.

Locke scored 18 points, pulled down 14 rebounds and blocked 10 shots in the Lady Falcons' first region win. Bella Brick added 8 points. 

The Lady Falcons (2-4, 1-0 Region 8-4A) held Chestatee to 10 first-half points en route to a 26-10 advantage at the half. The Lady War Eagles pulled within 11 points after the third quarter, but Flowery Branch pressed the gas pedal in the final period to take the win. 


CEDAR SHOALS 55,
EAST HALL 48 OT

Cedar Shoals pulled away in overtime to beat the Lady Vikings on the road Friday.

Audrey Griffin paced East Hall (3-2, 0-1 Region 8-4A) with 13 points and Maleah Harrison had 9.

The Lady Vikings will travel to Commerce on Saturday. Game time is set for 5 p.m.


ST. FRANCIS 64,
LAKEVIEW 14

Second-ranked St. Francis was too much to handle for the young Lakeview team in the blowout loss on the road Friday.  

Sidney Corbin led the Lady Lions with 6 and Annie Nivens had 7 rebounds.    

St. Francis jumped out to a 37-6 halftime advantage.
