As Hall County elections workers tackle a machine recount of votes from the Nov. 3 General Election, they have also put the finishing touches on an early voting plan for the Jan. 5 runoff races.

The runoffs include the hotly-contested U.S. Senate races between incumbent Republican Kelly Loeffler and Democrat Raphael Warnock and incumbent Republican David Perdue and his Democrat challenger John Ossoff. Also on the ballot is a runoff between incumbent Public Service Commissioner Lauren 'Bubba' McDonald, a Republican, and Democrat Daniel Blackman.

The Hall County Elections Office announced earlier this week that registered voters in the county will have four locations available for early, in person voting.

Beginning Monday, Dec. 14 voters may cast early ballots during a three week time frame. The last day to vote early will be Thursday, Dec. 31. There will be no early voting on Dec. 24, Dec. 25 or Jan. 1. There is no Saturday voting day scheduled during the early voting period in Hall County.
The last day to vote early, in-person will be Thursday, Dec. 31.

Ballots may be cast weekdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at any of the following locations:
  • City of Gainesville Downtown Building (old Turner, Wood and Smith Building) - 100 Brenau Ave., Gainesville, GA 30501
  • East Hall Community Center - 3911 P. Davidson Rd., Gainesville, GA 30507
  • North Hall Community Center - 4175 Nopone Rd., Gainesville, GA 30506
  • Spout Springs Library - 6488 Spout Springs Rd., Flowery Branch, GA 30542
"Due to the ongoing pandemic, we will continue to adhere to the health safety guidelines outlined by the CDC, State of Georgia and White House," said Elections Director Lori Wurtz in a prepared statement. "This will include frequent cleaning of voting machines and adherence to social distancing guidelines. Voters are highly encouraged to wear a mask at the precinct."

Voters who decide to use absentee ballots may go to the Hall County Elections Page on the county website to get complete information on obtaining an absentee ballot.  The county will provide two ballot drop boxes that were available during the General Election  - one is located at the Hall County Government Center (2875 Browns Bridge Rd., Gainesville, GA 30504) and the other is located at Spout Springs Library (6488 Spout Springs Rd., Flowery Branch, GA 30542).
