A wild police chase in Gwinnett County Monday ended with authorities arresting a fugitive.

An investigation by the Fugitive Unit of the Gwinnett Police Department revealed the location of a wanted suspect. However, before authorities could arrest him, that suspect, Christopher Jean Pierre, fled in a car driven by another man. The driver of the vehicle nearly ran over one of the deputies while trying to escape. Authorities were eventually able to bring the car to a stop and both men in the vehicle were arrested.

Pierre is wanted by Gwinnett Police on charges of murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm/knife during the commission of a crime.

In a statement from the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department, the driver of the vehicle, who was not named, was arrested on multiple felony charges.

According to a FB post from the department, “We're glad to report there were no serious injuries during this high-risk operation. We appreciate the dedicated efforts of everyone involved.”
