RABBITTOWN — East Hall used a big third quarter to pull away for a 52-37 win over Apalachee on Monday night in boys basketball action.
The win was the first for the Vikings (1-1) for new coach Tommy Yancey.
The Vikings used a tremendous defensive effort in the first half holding the Wildcats to just 13 first half points.East Hall rolled out to a 15-7 lead after the first quarter, and despite scoring just 1 points in the second period, the Vikings managed to take a 16-13 lead into the intermission.
But East hall exploded for a 23-11 third quarter run to blow the game open for a 39-24 lead. The two teams played to a standstill in the fourth quarter.
Christian Torres had a huge game for the Vikings. The senior poured in 27 points, pulled down 11 rebounds, blockd 4 shots, and had 2 steals
Deondre Langston added 7 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals. Imre Earls chipped in 6 points, 5 assists, 2 steals, and had no trunpvers running the offense.
