Gainesville man facing drug charges after Wednesday arrest

A Gainesville man was arrested Wednesday and is facing several drug-related charges, including trafficking methamphetamine, following an investigation by the Gainesville/Hall County Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad.
 
According to a press release from the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, MANS Unit agents arrested 43-year-old Antonio Jermaine McCluster after a search warrant was executed at his home in the 2,000 block of Chicopee Street.
 
Agents seized about 33 grams of methamphetamine, two grams of heroin, two grams of crack cocaine and 11 grams of synthetic marijuana. The release says the street value of the drugs is about $4,540. 
 
Agents also confiscated three handguns and a rifle. One of the handguns was stolen, according to the release.
 
Aside from methamphetamine tracking, McCluster is facing several other charges. These charges include possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of synthetic cannabinoid, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
 
McCluster was booked into the Hall County Jail and remained there as of Thursday afternoon.
 
The release says the MANS Unit is still investigating the case, but no further arrests are expected.
