The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a wreck that occurred when a car crossed the median of Ga. 15 and struck a pickup truck just south of Antioch Church Road Tuesday night.

“At this time, we know that a reddish Cadillac was traveling north when the driver, for an unknown reason, crossed the median into the southbound lane,” said Sgt. 1st Class D.O. Saddler of GSP Post 7 in Toccoa. “Once the driver crossed, the Cadillac struck a golf Chevrolet Silverado pickup that was traveling southbound, and veered off the roadway.”

Ambulances from Habersham County Emergency Services transported both the driver and passenger of the Cadillac to Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

The driver of the pickup truck was not hurt.

Names and charges are pending, Saddler said.

The wreck was reported just after 6:20 p.m. and shut down traffic for nearly two hours.
