A person was killed in a hit-and-run Saturday evening at the Walmart located at 3245 Lawrenceville Suwanee Road in Suwanee, according to a press release from the Suwanee Police Department.

According to the release, Suwanee Police responded to the scene at 9:04 p.m. after witnesses saw two black male suspects shoplifting inside the Walmart. When the suspects were confronted by Walmart loss prevention, they fled to the parking lot and drove away in a U-Haul van with an Arizona tag (possibly AJ38446).

While leaving the parking lot, the U-Haul van struck a pedestrian, who was dragged onto Satellite Boulevard and later died at the scene. The suspects fled following the incident.

Suwanee Police are waiting to release the name of the pedestrian until next of kin are notified.

According to the release, the two suspects are currently unknown, and Suwanee Police are searching for the U-Haul.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Suwanee Police Department at 770-945-8995.
