GAINESVILLE — Clark Howell and Kevin Rochester have become a fierce one-two punch for North Hall.
The dynamic duo combined for 289 yards and five touchdowns on the ground to lead the Trojans (4-3, 3-0 Region 7-3A) to a 33-10 win over Lumpkin County at Lynn Cottrell Stadium. It was the Trojans' fourth straight win since starting the season 0-3.
North Hall's defense held Lumpkin County (0-6, 0-2) to just 166 total yards -- 17 on the ground and 149 through the air.
The Trojans' offense, on the other hand, started slow but blew it open by half time thanks to Rochester and Howell (14-149 rushing, 2 TDs).
Rochester (13-140 rushing, 3 TDs) scored the Trojans' only touchdown in the opening quarter on a 36-yard run with 4:43.
North Hall added two scored late in the second quarter -- a two-yard Rochester run with 3:37 left and a Howell 60-yard dash with 6 seconds left in the half.
In the third quarter, Rochester (30-yard rushing TD) and Howell (16-yard rushing TD) pushed the Trojan lead to 33-3.
Lumpkin's points came on a Marcus Remillard 20-yard field goal as time expired in the third quarter, and Cooper Scott 10-yard pass to Caleb Norrell with 6:57 left in the game.
