State fire investigators are on the lookout for an arsonist following a fire at a mobile home in Blue Ridge on Monday, Oct. 12.

The State Insurance and Fire Safety Commissioner's Office issued a statement Wednesday, saying that the fire itself caused minor damage to the 31-year-old structure on Sugar Creek Road. However, a person who lived in the mobile home was taken to the hospital for unspecified injuries not related to the fire.

"Our State Fire Investigations Unit is continuing to investigate this case alongside the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office and the Fannin County Fire Department," Commissioner John King said.

A warrant has been issued in this case, and King said his office would release additional information about the case as evidence is uncovered.

Anyone who has information on the fire is asked to contact state investigators at 1-800-282-5804. Callers can remain anonymous when using the 24-hour tip line.
