BETHLEHEM — The Lanier Christian Academy girls could not overcome a slow start in a 40-31 loss to Bethlehem Christian Academy on Saturday on the road.
The Lightning actually led 6-5 after the first quarter but fell beind 15-10 after being held to just four points in the second quarter. They pulled within 25-22 heading into the final period but could not complete the comeback.
Lexie Robertson led LCA with 11 points. Faith Wasden added 9 points, Lily Martin and Ashley Avery each scored 4 points, and Reece Montgomery had 3 points for the Lightning.
Katherine Gano led Bethlehem with 20 points and Jadyn Goddard had 11 points.
LCA (13-4) next will play host to Old Suwanee Christian Academy on Monday.
