The opening of the Exit 14 overpass bridge over Interstate 985 has been pushed back two days to Monday, January 27.

According to a press release from Georgia Department of Transporation spokesperson Katie Strickland, Thursday's weather conditions prevented necessary striping for the bridge.

The press release also said that the State Route 11/US 129 Longstreet Bridge is still on track to open Tuesday, January 28. Drivers can expect to use the new bridge by afternoon.

Removal of the old Longstreet Bridge is expected to begin a week after the opening of the new one. Drivers wanting to access Thompson Mill Road near the old bridge can expect a detour for about five days detour as construction is completed. Traffic will be redirected onto Parker Road during this time.
