Gainesville man arrested for heroin, cocaine possession

A Gainesville man was arrested Wednesday for possession of approximately $4,000 worth of illegal drugs. The arrest was made following an investigation by the Hall County Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad (MANS) Task Force and Hall County Sheriff's Office ACE Unit.

According to a press release from Lieutenant Don Scalia with Hall County MANS, a search warrant was served at the residence of Edwin Wheeler, Jr. in the 1200 block of Martin Drive in Gainesville. Inside, MANS Task Force Officers found about 4 ½ grams of heroin, around 4 ½ grams of crack cocaine, approximately 68 grams of marijuana and 1 gram of synthetic marijuana, all packaged for distribution.

Wheeler faces charges of trafficking heroin, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, felony possession of marijuana and possession of synthetic marijuana.
