Northeast Georgia Medical Center's Lumpkin County campus has been operating out of the old Chestatee Hospital on Crown Mountain since last July, but officials are moving ahead with a new facility. Part of the plan is making sure the community is kept informed on the progress of the project, so NGMC has scheduled five community forums for the coming week.

Information on the NGMC Lumpkin website said the meetings will be held Monday through Friday in five different communities that will be impacted by the new hospital. Each forum is scheduled for 6 - 7 p.m. (See specific locations and dates below)

Those who attend will see a construction timeline for the new Lumpkin facility, which is to be built south of Dahlonega at a tract on Georgia 400. Hospital officials will also discuss new technology that will be used at the new hospital. Attendees are welcome to ask questions about the new hospital, as well.
