DAHLONEGA — Julianne Sutton led all scorers with 21 points as the No. 10 University of North Georgia women's basketball team led wire-to-wire to beat Georgia College, 65-47, Saturday afternoon.
The game was tied just once at 5-5 after UNG scored the first five points of the game followed by the Bobcats' five points. North Georgia went on a 7-2 run to take a lead through to the second quarter. After extending the lead to as many as 17 points before halftime, the Nighthawks kept the lead in double figures despite being outscored in the third quarter.
North Georgia responded in the fourth quarter, putting up 19 points in the period to earn the sixth Peach Belt win of the season.
NOTES
-- Sutton ended one rebound shy of a double-double, scoring in double figures for the 18th straight game. She has had double-digit points in 32 of the last 33 games.
-- Abbie Franklin scored 17 points, hitting five 3-point on six attempts. Chloe Savage added 14 points off the bench, while Kyra Davis contributed 10.
-- The Nighthawks had 40 points in the paint while holding GC to just 18 points inside.
