GAINESVILLE
New parents Field And Danielle McCann spent their New Year’s Eve in a very different, yet truly special way- by welcoming their firstborn Vell Field McCann, IV into the world.
Baby Vell arrived at approximately 1:20 a.m. on January 1st, 2020. He was the first baby born of the new year at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.
At the time of his birth, he weighed 6 lbs 4 oz and was 19 inches long.
The McCanns haven’t decided whether to call their son “Quatro” or “Four” based on his status as the fourth generation to carry the family name. But either way, they’re thrilled that he’s here.
"It's really amazing," said mother Danielle McCann. "It just doesn't feel real yet!"
The McCanns also said they didn't give much thought to the possibility of their son being Baby New Year 2020.
"That's really not what we were thinking about at all," said father Field McCann. "We were just trying to get to [the hospital]."
Baby Vell must have known he would be the first baby and was ready to make his appearance. Danielle McCann only labored for about 45 minutes before delivering. Her secret? Exercise and plenty of fluids.
BRASELTON
The Northeast Georgia Braselton location welcomed a baby girl as their Baby New Year 2020 at 9:30 a.m. New Year's Day.
Lyric Dashari Williams weighed 6 lbs 9 oz and measured 18 3/4 inches long. Proud parents are Undria Clark and Rashad Williams.
