*The library crosswalk across Davis Street in downtown Braselton was named the “Best Design-Placemaking Award” of the year at the recent Georgia Downtown Association’s conference at Jekyll Island.

*Forsyth County’s annual Trunk or Treat Safety Event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Cumming Fairgrounds.

*The Heart Center of Northeast Georgia Medical Center’s newest cardiologist is Atul Trivedi, MD, who began seeing patients in Dawsonville and Cumming this week.

*The Cumming-based Sawnee EMC Foundation/Operation Round Up recently announced donations of $62, 311 charities and classrooms in Sawnee’s service area.

*The Gwinnett County Board of Voter Registrations and Elections has appointed elections veteran Kristi Royston as elections supervisor for Gwinnett County.  Royston has served as Gwinnett’s assistant elections supervisor since January 2010.  She has been acting elections supervisor since July.

*For the fourth consecutive year, the Atlanta Business Chronicle has named Gainesville’s Willis Investment Counsel to its list of Atlanta’s Top 25 Money Managers.   It is the only firm outside metro Atlanta to make the list.

*The Gainesville Kiwanis Club's annual Pancake Breakfast will be held Sept. 18, 7:00-11:00, at the Gainesville Civic Center.

*North Georgia Technical College celebrated the new start of the new academic year with a 3.6% increase in enrollment from fall semester last year.
