Gateway Domestic Violence Center received a $50,000 contribution last week for its campaign to build a new shelter in Gainesville for victims of domestic violence.
The donation was made by the Beverly J. Searles Foundation, Inc., the nonprofit owners and developers of Myrtle Terraces, a senior adult residential complex on Myrtle Street in Gainesville.
The Gateway to 2020 campaign passed the $2 million mark last December.
