DAHLONEGA – BoJack Dowdy rushed for 153 yards and two touchdowns to lead Lumpkin County to its first win Friday night.

Dowdy’s touchdown run with 6:42 left in the game pushed the Indians (1-4) ahead for good in a 29-21 win over Gilmer County.

But the game was back and forth in the second half.

After the Bobcats went ahead 14-13 in the third quarter, Lumpkin fired back with 5:29 to go off a Dowdy 3-yard scoring run.

Later in the quarter, Gilmer answered right back with an eight-play, 57-yard drive to take back the lead 21-20.

The Indians roared back on a six-minute drive, capped by the Dowdy 2-yard TD run with 10:12 left in the game.

The Indians are off next week.
