Work will continue Monday on clearing certain trees and vegetation along I-985 between Oakwood and Gainesville.

According to a state Department of Transportation news release, this will require single-lane closures through Wednesday from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. daily, southbound between exits 16 (State Route 53)  and 20 (State Route 60).

This work is expected to continue through the end of November but lane closures may not occur every day.

"This project increases safety for drivers on I-985 as the contractor is clearing vegetation 75 feet from the edge of the pavement," according to the release.

AccessWDUN first reported on this type of work on I-985 back in March, when crews were concentrating on Hall and Gwinnett counties.
