An East Hall property owner goes before the Hall County Planning Commission Monday hoping for approval of a subdivision on a piece of property which he once proposed for a soccer field.

Sergio Felix's latest proposal calls for a seven-lot single-family home subdivision on the 71.78-acre site, which is on Burton Circle near the Barrett Road intersection.  In his application, Felix is asking for a "Use Subject to County Commission."  The parcel is zoned AR-IV (Agricultural-Residential Four).

His request is recommended for approval, with conditions by the county planning staff.

Last year, Felix requested that the property be rezoned to Highway-Business for the soccer facility but his application was denied by the planning commission and he withdrew the request before it reached the county commission for a final decision.

Documents on file with the county, show that most of the property is vacant and wooded and adjoins two subdivisions - Barrett Brook and Silver Ridge.  The planning staff's full report can be found here.

Also at Monday's meeting, as AccessWDUN reported a week ago, the planning staff is recommending denial of an application from Family Promise, which seeks to locate a facility for temporarily homeless families on McEver Road, where McEver Road United Methodist Church is now located.
