*Northeast Georgia Health System has named Andrei Boyarshinov chief legal officer and vice president of Legal Affairs.  Most recently, Boyarshinov served as deputy general counsel at UF Health, a $3.4 billion health system in Florida. He was also responsible for providing legal oversight to two academic medical centers in Jacksonville and Gainesville, Fla., including multiple hospitals and more than 1,500 doctors.

*For the fourth year in a row, Toccoa Falls College is reporting a record enrollment - 1,800 students, an increase of seven percent over last year at this time.

*Lavonia Police Chief Bruce Carlisle has been named by Gov. Brian Kemp to a new term on the state Board of Public Safety.   In addition, Kemp has named Rick Story of Clayton to the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority.  Story serves as the Director of Development for the Rabun County Board of Commissioners.

*Brenau University added 20 new full-time faculty members for the 2019-2020 academic year.

*Braselton’s Matt Ruppel was named a “Main Street Hero” at the Georgia Downtown Association’s annual conference at Jekyll Island. Ruppel, co-owner of Cotton Calf Kitchen and Braselton Fine Bakery in  Braselton, was honored for his investments and spirit of philanthropy and their impact on the historic downtown’s revitalization efforts.

*The Georgia Department of Labor is partnering with the Cumming-Forsyth Chamber of Commerce, WorkSource Georgia, and Lanier Technical College to host a job fair Sept. 24. It will be held from 2 - 6 p.m. on the Lanier Tech campus in Cumming.

*Construction activity for the I-85 widening project will require lane closures next week along the corridor in Gwinnett, Barrow, and Jackson counties.
