WDUN’s Martha Zoller has been appointed to the Georgia State Board of Nursing Home Administrators by Gov. Brian Kemp.
Zoller, who hosts WDUN’s “Morning Talk with Martha Zoller,” will be one of 15 members of the board that oversees nursing home licensing in the state. It meets quarterly.
Zoller began her talk radio career in 1994 after being a regular caller to WDUN. Her first call to the station was prompted by Hillary Clinton’s lament that “she could have stayed at home and baked cookies.” She hosted “The Martha Zoller Show” until 2009. In 1997, Martha won a GABBY for Best Locally Produced Talk Show in Georgia from the Georgia Association of Broadcasters.
For eight years from 2005-2014, Zoller was named to the “Heavy Hundred” Talk Shows Hosts in America by Talkers Magazine. For three straight years, she was one of James magazine’s Most Influential Georgians and in 2005, she was named one of the most influential members of the media by Georgia Trend. For a decade, she appeared regularly on Fox 5’s “The Georgia Gang,” and she has appearanced on CNN, Fox News and MSNBC.
“Morning Talk with Martha Zoller” airs at 9 a.m. weekdays on WDUN.
Three other North Georgians were also named to boards by Kemp:
- David Dukes, the senior vice president of the hotel division for Benson's, Inc., was named to the Hotel/Motel Tax Performance Review Board. He lives in Athens.
- Rick Story, director of development for the Rabun County Board of Commissioners, was named to the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority. He lives in Clayton.
- Jace Brooks, a business consultant and member of the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners, was named to the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority. He lives in Lawrenceville.
