Driver critically injured in crash involving tractor-trailer on 985 Monday night

The male driver of a passenger car that collided with a tractor-trailer truck Monday night in Hall County is in critical condition.

“We are currently investigating a crash that occurred on interstate 985 near mile marker 11 involving a passenger car and a tractor-trailer,” said Cpl. Major Patterson of Georgia State Patrol Post 6 in Gainesville by email late Monday night.

The male driver of the passenger vehicle was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Patterson said the investigation is ongoing and details will be released later.

The closed lanes of I-985 have reopened.

The crash was one of several wrecks and incidents involving tractor-trailers in Northeast Georgia on Monday.
