The investigation into a reported armed robbery in Toccoa on Thursday led to two drug arrests and a juvenile complaint.

“Around 1 a.m. on Sept. 5, officers were dispatched to the Mtn. Mart at Big A and Currahee Streets for a possible armed robbery with a gun,” said Toccoa Police Chief Jimmy Mize on Monday.

While officers were responding, they were told the suspects had left the scene in a white Dodge Ram truck.

“Within minutes, the truck was located, and a traffic stop was initiated,” Mize said.

The 17-year-old male driver of the vehicle, Adam Rudeseal, gave consent for officers to search the vehicle, was questioned and later released at the scene.

Misty Rudeseal, 38, of Toccoa had a backpack in the truck with a glass pipe containing burnt residue, according to Mize. She stated knowing nothing of a gun, just a juvenile male that had sold a phone to Adam Rudeseal and the other passenger had gone into the bathroom at Mtn. Mart to get the phone from the juvenile.

Misty Rudeseal was arrested at the scene for possession of drug-related objects.

Kayla Ressler, 29, of Toccoa stated she had paid the juvenile $80 for an iPhone 7 and was trying to get the phone, Mize said. She was found to be in possession of and charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug-related objects.

“During the investigation, it was determined that this case was a drug deal gone bad,” Mize said. “No gun was used in the incident.”

The juvenile was charged with false report of a crime.
