Gwinnett Police are trying to identify the man they believe is connected to a hit and run at a Dacula gas station that left a woman with serious injuries.
The woman parked next to the air pump at a BP gas station on Harbins Road in Dacula on September 4. She went around to the passenger side to put air in her tire, according to a release from Gwinnett County Police
The suspect was spotted in the gas station's convenience store just before 8 p.m. and was seen using the ATM and shopping. He walked out of the store but didn't leave, instead speaking to an unknown black male around 8:15 p.m.
As the suspect gets in his car to leave, Gwinnett Police said he backed out of the parking space, stopped and then continued in reverse at a high rate of speed, striking the victim's vehicle. He quickly left the scene, headed north of Harbins Road. He did not return to the scene or contact police.
The victim suffered serious injury and her vehicle was damaged as well.
The suspect is described by police as a heavyset white male, in his 20's, wearing a black and white hat, grey Georgia Bulldogs t-shirt and New Balance tennis shoes. His vehicle is described as a silver Ford SUV with a Georgia "G" sticker in the lower right rear window.
