RABBITTOWN — Clete Cooper passed for 326 yards and two touchdowns to lead East Hall past Woodland, Cartersville, 34-28, Friday night at East Hall Stadium.
Cooper completed 24 of his 28 attempts in the Vikings' first win of the season and new coach Michael Perry's first win at East Hall.
Mon Tabor had a stellar night for the Vikings (1-2), catching five passes for 85 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for another 111 yards and a 70-yard touchdown run.
The Viking jumped out to a 21-0 lead at halftime, sparked by the play of Cooper and a Matthew Lott blocked a punt in the endzone for a touchdown. Tabor's big run also came in the first half.
Woodland mounted a comeback in the second half getting, closing the game to a touchdown, but Cooper hit two big passes to keep the Vikings ahead. Drew Highfield hauled in a 45-yard pass and Tabor caught a 38-yard pass from Cooper.
The Vikings welcome Chestatee to East Hall Stadium Friday. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
